| Controlling rats and mice inside a swine facility is challenging; you want to keep your livestock safe while getting rid of rodents. An indoor baiting program cleans out rodents and keeps any new invaders under control.
With their potential to spread disease and contaminate feed, rodents pose a very real threat to the bio-security of your operation. Motomco's Rodent Control System can be adapted to any part of your operation, following the key principles listed below.

| BAIT STATIONS ALONG INSIDE PERIMETER WALLS |
Place Tomcat Bait Stations or Tomcat LP along inside walls away from animals. As a general guideline, place bait stations - every 30 to 50 feet for rats and closer for mice, every 8 to 12 feet. We don't advise placing them along busy walkways, such as in the breeding/gestation rooms. Instead, place them along walls where there is less traffic. |
| |

| BAIT ACCORDING TO ROTATION CYCLE |
| Choose bait according to Motomco's yearly bait rotation program to prevent rodents from building up a tolerance to an active ingredient: 2 months of Rampage, 4 months of Jaguar and 6 months of Hawk |

| CHUNX IN BAIT STATIONS |
Place bait Chunx in bait stations which keep bait fresher longer. Vertical securing rods will hold the bait inside the bait station. Rodents cannot translocate the Chunx which protects your livestock. |
| |

| BAIT ABOVEGROUND, TOO |
| Rats and mice like to climb and will travel long rafters and between feed lines. Be sure to bait rafters, attics and other areas aboveground. Bait Chunx can be nailed in place. And, bait corridors connecting buildings, especially if you've noticed signs of rodents, such as shredded insulation from the walls and ceiling. |

| LP IN CORNERS |
Tomcat LP, with its low profile, works well for baiting in corners where rodents like to travel or slip it into tight areas, such as under shelves. |
| |

| BAIT CURTAIN LEDGE FOR MICE |
| Use Tomcat Keyless or Tomcat Mouse Bait Station along curtain ledges. Mice will gnaw through the curtains to get inside and frequently nest in curtains. Place stations every 10 feet or so. Mice have a home range of 8 to 12 feet and they're nibblers so place enough stations. Tomcat Keyless holds two Chunx and Tomcat Mouse Bait Station holds four. |
| |
| |

| MONITOR REGULARLY |
| Monitor bait station once or twice a month, or more frequently depending on activity level. Remove spoiled bait. Keep up a supply of fresh bait until activity ceases. |

| BAITING COOL CELLS |
In cool cell areas, use Chunx, which hold up well in damp conditions, in Tomcat Mouse Bait Station. The hole in the Chunx also lets you nail it to ceilings or rafters where mice and roof rats like to travel. |
| |

| BAITING FARROWING ROOMS |
| In farrowing rooms, place bait stations in corners or other areas away from swine but where rodents will find it. |

| BAITING FINISHING PENS |
In finishing pens, place bait away from the reach of pigs, such as along curtain ledges, or along center aisles when animals are not being moved in and out. |
